I am a 43 year old woman, single for four years, and going forward with my life after a 24 year old marriage.  I am told that I am pretty and in good shape.  Young men often hit on me.  My dilemma is that I find men extremely hard to figure out.  In the beginning, they can't live without you, and then they want you to leave them alone and won't talk to you.  What is going on here?  I dated one man for 8 months.  He wined and dined me and even talked about marriage.  We took a break because we were busy.  When I called him again, he had lost all feeling and was gone.  How does this happen?  Why can't I find a nice man to settle down with, enjoy life, and companionship.  I don't want to be alone.  It is really hard to find a compatible man.  What should I do?  DOB- 12/31/63

Perhaps it is time to take a look at what kind of signals you are sending out to men.  Could they be sensing a message of desperation?  ( I know you don't feel you are giving out this message, but it is usually very unspoken)  The most attractive women are comfortable with themselves because they cultivate their own interests.  They have a lot to share.  Spend some time finding yourself.  The dating scene has changed.  Don't expect to find Mr. Right overnight.  When you are finally comfortable being on your own, is when Mr. Right will find you.
